The Little House Mission

Welcome to Little House Studio, I am Lisa Cox, owner and teacher.

I do not remember a time in my life when there was no art.  Both my parents enjoyed art making and our house was lined with art work by both my mom and my dad.  Neither pursued art as a career.  In searching my life path, art was a natural fit for me and I majored in art at The University of North Texas.  So many students around me were so talented and had their own signature style. I was skillful at techniques but always struggled with my own style. It was as if I was influenced by everyone else’s work, but still could not find my way. I enrolled in an education class one semester and was really good at creating curriculum, but at the time it just confused me more. I put my college career on hold and headed out into the world to find my purpose, my style and my internal compass. I completed my BA at Texas Women’s University and certified to teach art, EC-12th  grade. I not only teach in my studio but also at a small private school in Grapevine, Texas. Our school welcomes students with a broad array of learning differences. Art is universal, and my students grow creatively and intellectually in my classroom.

The Little House Studio is a  safe places to explore the creativity inside of you in a judgement free environment.  A creative space stock full of supplies and inspiration just waiting for someone to put it all into action. I teach students to reach inside and make meaningful art.  To brainstorm ideas and create art that tells their story in a way that only they can.

Mission Statement:

To provide a safe and inspiring environment, where everyone(all ages and abilities) is free to enjoy creating art and reconnecting to the joy that art making provides.
